Technology Implementation Plan
Abstract
This document outlines a technology use plan for incorporating Microsoft HoloLens 2 and Taqtile Manifest software into machine tool training within the Fabrication Studios at The University of Texas at Austin. The initiative aims to create an augmented reality-based mixed reality integrated learning environment (MILE) to enhance the safety and proficiency of learners operating complex machinery. The plan details the implementation process, learner context, content adaptation, and evaluation methods. It also addresses potential challenges, such as high costs, user acceptance, and technical hurdles. Through this innovative approach, the project seeks to leverage cutting-edge technology to provide effective, hands-free, and immersive training experiences that could be as impactful as traditional face-to-face instruction.
